I've lost track of birds seen in North America, but I think the ones in capitals are new for me. Great northern diver - 1 summer plumage, Boston Harbour. Northern fulmar - several 2nd pelagic. Manx shearwater - one, first pelagic. Great shearwater - 10+, both pelagics. Sooty shearwater - 3, 2nd pelagic. Wilson's petrel - 1, 2nd pelagic. Northern gannet - both pelagics. Double-crested cormorant - common. Great blue heron - 1, Mt Auburn Cemetery 2 October. Canada goose - Boston Harbour, Charles River. Wood duck - 3 over Mt Auburn Cemetery 2 October. Mallard - common. Ring-necked duck - 12 Freshpond 1 October. WHITE-WINGED SCOTER - ca. 20, both pelagics. BLACK SCOTER. - several, 2nd pelagic. Ruddy duck - 1 Freshpond 1 October. Peregrine - 1 Boston Harbour, first pelagic. Arctic skua - 2 light phase, first pelagic. Bonaparte's gull - 2 Boston Harbour, 2nd pelagic. Laughing gull - < 5, both pelagics. Ring-billed gull - common. American herring gull - common. Great black-backed gull - common, pelagics. Common tern - 2, first pelagic. Mourning Dove - 1 Cambridge, 1 at sea 2nd pelagic.
