Mount Emei is a great place to see Himalayan macaques. The monkeys are so tame that they pester tourists for food.

A noctule, Nyctalus plancyi and a parti-coloured bat Vespertilio sinensis

The harlequin bat Scotomanes ornatus

The barbastelle Barbastella leucomelas and the horseshoe bat Rhinolophus macrotis

The horseshoe bats Rhinolophus pearsonii and R. thomasi

and a colony of Hipposideros pratti, with the old males showing enlarged noseleaves. A close up photo shows this amazing structure, which must render the bat virtually blind.
