The outbound flight gave some great views - below are the Alps, fields in Croatia, and a scene over Turkey with snowy mountains.
We approached Cyprus from the west, flying north of Pafos, then looping back into the airport. Photos below show the west coast, the south coast (over Mandria and Asprokremnos Dam), over Pafos airport and the new Orites wind farm at Koaklia. This covers 16 square km, and has 41 turbines so far. Although it should reduce carbon dioxide output by 100,000 tons/year and contribute 10% of the island's energy generation, I wonder how many migrant birds of prey and bats it will kill?
