Tenerife 2009

The Canary Islands boast more whale-watchers than any country in the world excepting the US and Canada. Short-finned pilot whales are resident in the channel between La Gomera and Tenerife. Although they can be approached closely, they are quite difficult to photograph because their heads surface only briefly.
