Below the volcanic landscape around El Teide, extensive forests of Canary Pine occur at about 800m - 2200m, and this is the habitat of the blue chaffinch.

This is a cardon (Euphorbiaceae - a familiy that has undergone an extensive adaptive radiation on Tenerife), and not a cactus.
