I work at the University of Bristol as a Professor in the School of Biological Sciences. I teach mammal diversity, evolution, bat biology and bioacoustics. My research is on the ecology of flight and echolocation in bats. I am married to Anna. We have two daughters, Kiara aged seventeen and Ramona (nineteen), and a Bichon Frise dog called Max. The links on the left will take you to a month-by-month diary of my birding trips, illustrated with photographs. I've also included some links about my research.
