30th. Hetty has set up a feeding station for birds in the Bristol garden. Great opportunities for photos against the autumn leaves.

15th-17th. St Ives. On 16th we went looking or the putative Paddyfield pipit at Sennen, but it was last seen 2 days previously! We saw a purple sandpiper on rocks beyond the Jubilee Pool at Penzance. On 17th we drove back via the Trippet Circle just off the A30 at Bodmin Moor. A superb male hen harrier flew over the rough grassland.

6th: Woodchester Mansion to collect some bat detectors stationed for students.
